Booking, customer accounts, a store, report cards, staff, a driver on the road — that is all one piece of software. It is called Ranch software, and we built it to run Trail Mutts. If you look after dogs for a living, you can run your business on the same thing, under your own name.
Nothing is charged before your workspace is switched on.

Booking
- Daycare, boarding and grooming, booked straight from your own site.
- A deposit up front on boarding, on the terms you set. Everything else is paid in full when it is booked.
- A waitlist for the days you are full, and an offer out to the next name when a spot opens.

Your customers
- An account for every customer, holding each dog's details and their vaccination records.
- Your agreements signed online before the first visit, with the signature and the exact wording kept on file.
- The day's report card drafts itself from what actually happened — the dog's profile, who they were out with, their wellness notes. Your staffer edits it and puts their name on it.

On the road
- Home visits — walks and drop-ins — booked like any other service.
- A report filed at the end of every visit and sent to the owner.
- Transport runs, and a phone app your driver works the day's stops from.

Selling
- A shop on your site with your own products and your own prices.
- Wholesale supply, if you want it. Apply from your dashboard, and once you are approved you can browse our catalogue, raise a purchase order, receive the stock in and settle the bill against what you ordered and what turned up — then sell it in your own shop at your own price.
- Orders, postage and tracking, with the customer emailed when a parcel goes out.
- Memberships and standing orders of your own, for anything that repeats — a weekly walk, a monthly plan, a recurring delivery.

Running the place
- One inbox for customer texts: they land in one place and your staff answer from there.
- Purchase orders to your suppliers, and the bills that come back, matched line by line against what actually turned up.
- Staff accounts at three levels — employee, manager and admin — invited by email, with two-factor sign-in.
Whose business it looks like
It is your business, not ours
Your name on the front
Your logo, your colour, your town and a web address you own. Somebody who lands on your site sees your business — not ours, and not another ranch's. You add the address yourself from your settings, and it switches over once it resolves.
Your own database
Your business gets a database of its own, built and then checked before it is allowed to open — every table locked down, every access rule in place. Your customers' records do not sit in a shared table with another ranch's, and nothing here can read across from one business to another.
You can leave
Everything your business records sits in a database of its own, and it is complete by construction — nothing of yours is in another ranch's tables, and nothing in yours belongs to anyone else. Ask us and we hand you the whole thing, as a standard PostgreSQL dump, over a time-limited link. Nothing here is built to make leaving difficult.

They go up the way a business does: one person running the place, then a team, then a whole operation with vehicles and suppliers to answer for. Pick the one that matches where you are now — you can move up later. It is a flat amount on a card, and there is nothing for you to install or run.

Worth knowing before you apply
Better you hear these from us now than find them out in your first week.
- Deposits are for boarding. Every other service is paid in full at the time of booking.
- Your storefront can sit on a web address you own. Your staff sign in at an address we give you.
- Email goes out under your business's name, from our sending address.
- Customer texts come and go through one number shared across every business here.
- Parcels are bought and shipped on our postage account, not yours.
- An export is your database — customers, dogs, bookings, records, orders. Photographs and uploaded certificates are not in it yet.
- Everything runs on Central Time.
Questions
Who is this built for?
Businesses that look after dogs: boarding kennels, daycares, grooming shops, walkers and sitters. If you are running that on a paper diary, a spreadsheet and your phone, this is the thing that replaces all three.
What happens after I apply?
A person reads every application by hand, and you hear back either way. If it is a yes, we build your workspace at the account name you asked for — that usually takes a few minutes — and you get a second email when it is ready to sign in to. Nothing is charged before your workspace is switched on.
Will my customers know whose software it is?
No. Your site carries your name, your logo and your colour, on a web address you own. The emails it sends go out under your business's name. Nothing your customers see is addressed from anybody else.
Can another business see my customers?
No. Each business has its own database, and every read the software makes is tied to one business. That is checked before your workspace is allowed to open, and checked again by our tests on every change we ship.
What do I need before I apply?
Your business name, how to reach you, your Employer Identification Number, and the account name you would like your workspace to live at. That is the whole form.
